The University of San Diego’s MBA degree program is ranked among the top 100 in the United States, according to Bloomberg Businessweek. USD’s MBA program leaped an impressive 21 spots from last year to 60th in the nation, seventh in California, and first in San Diego by one of the nation’s preeminent business publications.

USD School of Business alumni are excelling in their international careers across Asia and making a global impact. We invited seven of them to speak at our first-ever global Seven-by-Seven event in Hong Kong. Each alum delivered a seven-minute version of a TED Talk, highlighting their experiences in leadership, creativity, and innovation. This event is just one of several initiatives that are part of the USD School of Business’ implementation of its 2025 strategic plan, which includes a strong focus on engaged, globally-minded learning with experiential learning opportunities for students, faculty, staff and alumni.
Teamwork builds success
New video series
Professor of Management Jennifer Mueller received a grant from the U.S. Army for $425,000 for her work on creativity and culture to improve the Army's mission. The goal of the grant is to develop new doctrine, policies, and training to help leaders better evaluate new ideas and promote leadership practices that can help them identify new opportunities to help the U.S. protect its citizens.

The USD Legacy Entrepreneurship Conference is all about connecting with community and this year’s event brought out one of San Diego’s most vibrant entrepreneurs – James Brennan. From restaurants, to juice drinks (SUJA), to real estate – and now running Enlightened Brand Ventures – James doesn’t slow down.
As a USD alumnus, he continues to give back and help young entrepreneurs get their start.

Learn MoreThe Fowler Global Social Innovation Challenge’s Global Finals was a worldwide college student social entrepreneurship showcase. Starting with 44 teams representing more than 25 universities and 12 countries in all, the competition was narrowed to 13 finalists. Hoola One, a machine that provides an effective solution to remove microplastics from beaches, won the top amount, $22,000, in the Changemaker Awards category. The team consisted of Samuel Duval, Jean-David Lantagne, Jean-Felix Trembley and Helene Moreau.

Having new international students working toward an undergraduate business administration degree at USD is nothing new. What is new, though, is five students from Spain — Angela Gomez Fernandez, Maria Lopez Melendo Goyarrola, Ignacio Lopez Rey, Clara Toledo Pajares and David Alba Burbano — spending half of their studies at USD and the other half in Spain to earn two undergraduate degrees in just four years. This opportunity is made possible because of the International Partnership of Business Schools, of which both Universidad Pontificia de Comillas in Spain and USD are a part of.

The eighth annual Supply Chain Management Institute Spring Symposium brought together over 160 supply chain industry experts and professionals, representing 60 unique organizations, as well as USD staff, faculty and students. The theme of last year’s conference was ‘Innovate or Die,’ emphasizing lessons from industry leaders on the importance of creating new supply chain processes to stay in business.

Geoffrey Kasselman, SIOR, LEED AP, executive managing director of Newmark Knight Frank and immediate past president of SIOR Global, opened the conference. Kasselman is an innovation-minded futurist focused on harnessing transformative disruption and technology convergence in order to bring actionable opportunities to the commercial real estate industry. His presentation on "The Exponential Future of Everything" reviewed these disruptive changes.
